Community Panel
As part of our commitment to consultation with residents of Labrador, Aurora Energy created the Michelin Project Community Panel. The Panel gives community representatives from Labrador input into project planning and environmental work. Panel members represent a cross-section of coastal Labrador residents, including youth, elders, and volunteers, as well as those with expertise as hunters, fishers, business owners, health care workers, educators and in community development.
The Panel members are:
- Chesley Andersen, VP Labrador Affairs, Aurora Energy (Panel Chair)
- Josh Pamak, Nain
- Norman Broomfield, Hopedale
- Vacant, Makkovik
- Amy Ford, Postville
- Ernie McLean, North West River
- Lloyd Mugford, Happy Valley - Goose Bay
- Vacant, Postville (to be appointed by Postville’s Inuit Community Government)
- Sarah Blake, Rigolet
The Innu Nation also has the opportunity to participate on the Panel. Aurora is working actively with leaders in Innu communities to identify two potential Panel members.
The Panel meets six times per year. Its first meeting was held in November 2008.
